Review Meetings:

  • Review Meeting 1 - Apr. 4th, 2003
    • Riga - Latvia
    • The first Review Meeting of the Baltports-IT project took place in Riga on April 4, 2003. In addition to the project partners, two reviewers from the European commission joined the meeting. A summary of the current status of the project (Review Report of the Project Manager) was given to the reviewers prior to the meeting. The reviewer recommended to continue the project and highly appreciated the work done in Baltports-IT.

Workshops:

  • Workshop 6  - Sept. 20th, 2003
    • Riga - Latvia
    • The sixth workshop of the project was held in combination with the Harbour, Maritime & Multimodal Logistics and Simulation (HMS) workshop in Riga, Latvia. As part of the HMS workshop, a special session on the BALTPORTS-IT project was organized. With more than ten presenations the participants were able to gain detailed insights into the projects results. The consortium is proud to annouce that one of the presentations was rewarded the "Best Paper" award of the HMS conference. This paper authored by Andrzej Dzielinski, Krzysztof Amborski, Przemyslaw Kowalczuk, and Jerzy Sukiennik covered the work carried out at the Gdansk Container Terminal.
     
  • Workshop 5 - May 15th/16th, 2003
    • Klaipeda - Lithuania

    • Besides presenting the current progress of the project, the workshop focused on the preparation of the Baltports-IT handbook that will be published in the Fall of 2003. Moreover, the workshop provided the opportunity to visit the Klaipeda Oil Terminal. The meeting was concluded by a pleasent boat trip to explore the port of Klaipeda.
       

  • Workshop 4 - Feb. 6th/7th, 2003
    • Gdansk - Poland
    • On February 6-7, 2003 Gdansk played host to a conference bringing together participants involved in the Baltports-IT project financed by the European Commission. On February 10-11, the event was followed by works aimed at the accurate defining of the project and the software employed to aid the simulation of the Gdansk Container Terminal. The conference was organized by the Port of Gdansk Authority Co. in close co-operation with the Technical University of Warsaw.
  • Workshop 3 - Sept. 30th/ Oct. 1st 2002
    • Belfast - Northern Ireland
    • The University of Ulster presented the progress achieved on improving the simulation tool. Further plans where established for testing and installation of the tool at the end-user's sides. On the second day, a visit to the Port of Belfast was scheduled.

  • Workshop 2 - May 27th/28th 2002
    • Thessaloniki - Greece
    • The second workshop took place at the facilities of the partner TREDIT. One of the highlights of this meeting was the visit to the Container Terminal of the Thessaloniki Port. The newly established container tracking system was demonstrated to the consortium.
  • Workshop 1 - Mar. 1st/2nd 2002  
    • Magdeburg - Germany
    • On this workshop, the new sub-contractor TRD introduced itself to the consortium. The main focus of this meeting was to learn about the SPHERE simulator approach. A work plan was established how to develop a new simulation tool based on the SPHERE methodology

  •  Kick Off - Sept. 20th/21st 2001
    • Riga, Latvia
    • On the kick-off meeting, all partners introduced themselves. The goal of this workshop was to detail the project's work programme.
